Ministers' Corner

Rev. Audrey Bloom

Reverend Audrey Bloom - Consulting Minister

Reverend Audrey Bloom joined the congregation in the fall of 2015 as a consulting minister. Her training and ordination as an Interfaith/Inter-spiritual Minister is highly compatible with the Unitarian Universalist approach to spirituality. The late Wayne Teasdale first used the term "Inter-spirituality" in his renowned book, The Mystic Heart. His ideas are reflected in the “OSIS”, One Spirit Interfaith Seminary philosophy, “beneath the diversity of theological beliefs, rites, and observances lies a deeper unity of experience that is our shared spiritual heritage. Authentic spiritual paths, at their core, are committed to the common values of peace, compassionate service, love and respect for others, and for all or creation.”

Rev. Audrey is an avid Mindfulness meditation practitioner and teacher, who has been known to say, “My proverbial bumper sticker says, I’d rather be meditating.” Previously director of Education at the dynamic Miami Unity church, Rev. Audrey has functioned for many years as an Interfaith/Inter-spiritual Minister in South Florida, offering original classes in personal and spiritual growth, life passage ceremonies and most significantly teachings in The Circle Way. The Circle Way is a contemporary, yet ancient meeting format, where people can share their thoughts and ideas in an agreed upon, respectful manner. Most recently, Reverend Audrey has acquired a Coaching Certification in the “21 Skills of Spiritual Intelligence”, a faith friendly, but faith neutral approach to inner work (and the outer expression of it). She will be sharing much more about these 21 skills in her second-Sunday-of-the-month talks.

Significantly, Rev. Audrey is a long standing psychotherapist in private practice in Palmetto Bay.  A native New Yorker, she has made her home in Miami-Dade County for the last 38 years.
