Sunday Services/March 2017

Mar. 5:   "You-You-What?"   -Terry Lowman

It can sometimes feel like "we're on our own" when it comes to social justice, but within the UUA alone there are many organizations there to help. We’ll start with the Unitarian Universalist love affair with books and then talk about other justice organizations - the UU Service Committee, UU College of Social Justice, among others that support the environment, reproductive rights, economic justice...and finally, we’ll look at ways to access funds to promote justice.

Mar. 12:  "Women Hold Up Half the Sky"  -Rev. Audrey Bloom

Yes, sisterhood is powerful! To commemorate “Women’s History Month” (celebrated since 1995), this service will offer a panel of those who will recount their first-hand experiences and memories of protest consciousness raising, art, poetry, literature and, “a God that looks like me.”

Mar. 19:  "Spring Equi-Knocks & Global Warming"  -Mike Greico

Our UU Flower Communion celebrates the four sacred directions, so bring at least ONE flower to “trade” in this fun and interactive intergenerational service! Miami Beach Commissioner Mike Greico provides a hometown story about climate change, helping each of us to empower our voices.

Mar 26:  "Blanco & Bridges"   -Richard Blanco

“Whether speaking as the Cuban Blanco or the American Richard, the homebody or the world traveler, the shy boy or the openly gay man, the engineer or the inaugural poet, Richard Blanco’s writings possess a story-rich quality that illuminates the human spirit.” Join us for an incredible morning with this famed writer, sponsored by our Herrschaft Lecture and Cultural Fund.
