Conscious Aging

Come join us as we explore the mental, emotional, physical, social, vocational, and spiritual aspects of aging. With lively discussions and reflections, everyone who joins us learns from one another.

Our conscious aging group is engaging on a year long journey of reading and working on the book: A Year to Live – How to Live This Year as If It Were Your Last by Stephen Levine. This is a transformative guide exploring how to live consciously by treating every day as if it were the last. Levine offers practical strategies, meditations, and exercises to embrace death, fostering a deeper appreciation for life and resolving lingering regrets.

For those interested in joining us, you must purchase your own book and begin to read prior to our next meeting on May 6. Those who participate must read the book and share important passages with each other. Explore the value of a one-year commitment to consciousness and healing. Make a note of the day you begin the process. This will be your experimental « due date » one year hence. Reflect on what your reactions/responses might be to receiving a one-year prognosis. Explore this in terms of life changes, new projects, and the mechanics and grace of dealing with unfinished business. This is when to begin the journal. As the months go by, you will watch how the practices gradually change and deepen both in the journal and in the heart.

Feel free to bring a snack or lunch. This meeting takes place in the Emerson Room.
