FOCUS ON ABORTION: AMERICANS SHARE THEIR STORIES [RECEPTION]
Join us, in person, on Thursday September 26 from 7:00 to 9:00 pm. for a wine and cheese reception and to view this compelling and timely photo exhibition, “Focus on Abortion: Americans Share their Stories” by photojournalist and author Roslyn Banish.
The Unitarian Universalist Congregation of Miami is proud to host this traveling exhibit showcasing photographic portraits and first-person narratives of individuals who have had an abortion or are close to the abortion experience. The exhibit is intended to encourage civil discourse about abortion by sharing these nuanced and personal stories. Reading the first-person narrative with its accompanied portrait, the exhibit strives to mitigate the profound stigma that surrounds abortion. Few people talk about their abortions, so many will be surprised to learn that one out of four women in the US have had an abortion during their reproductive years.
Tickets available on a “pay what feels right” sliding scale. Promoting reproductive justice in Florida is critical at this moment. The work we do changes minds, and changes lives. Donations are welcomed and gratefully received.
