On May 10, Mother’s Day, with DNA: The Mothers Within Us, the story moves closer to the body. After beginning with cosmic expansion, we turn toward cells, inheritance, family, and the tenderness and complexity of Mother’s Day. DNA carries the instructions that help life continue, yet our inheritance is never only biological. Families pass down gestures, recipes, songs, silences, fears, loyalties, humor, resilience, and ways of surviving. A child learns a family’s emotional language long before they can name it. The nervous system studies the room. The body learns whether anger is dangerous, whether tenderness is safe, whether crying brings comfort, whether love requires performance, and whether joy is allowed to last. This service will hold Mother’s Day with honesty, making room for gratitude, grief, infertility, miscarriage, adoption, estrangement, loss, caregiving, tenderness, and complicated memory. Through DNA, epigenetics, and family systems, we will ask what we have received, what we are carrying, and what we are ready to transform.
