The month concludes on May 31 with Annual Meeting Sunday: Choosing What We Become, where the story becomes local and practical. After a month of cosmic beginnings, living codes, family inheritance, human emotional systems, and god-like technologies, UU Miami gathers to reflect, decide, and participate in the life of the congregation. A congregation is also a living system. It has a body made of buildings, grounds, finances, staff, volunteers, rooms, programs, music, policies, and calendars. It has a memory made of founding stories, beloved leaders, painful conflicts, generous gifts, losses, celebrations, traditions, and quiet acts of service. It has an emotional life made of trust, anxiety, hope, grief, loyalty, imagination, and the way people respond when change arrives. Annual Meeting Sunday asks what this living system is becoming. The question beneath the whole series is simple enough to ask and difficult enough to live with: what are we becoming? It is a question for the universe, for life, for families, for humanity, and for this congregation. It is also a question each person carries quietly inside.
