Twenty-five years after that September morning, the ghosts still walk among us: grief that never finished its work, fear that hardened into policy, neighbors who paid for harm they did not cause. This year, the anniversary falls within the Days of Awe, when the Jewish New Year sounds the shofar and calls the people to honest accounting and repair. Broken ground still receives seed. What grows there depends on what we plant. This Sunday, we ask what justice asks of us now, a quarter-century on, and we choose our seed with open eyes.
