TRAINING: A Roadmap to Interfaith Advocacy with Rev. Paul Raushenbush
Policies are personal. Compelling stories call attention to the human element of issues debated at the state and local levels. Knowing how to craft effective messaging and get it out to the public is essential for advocates or organizations to effect change. In this training, Interfaith Alliance staff and participants will discuss the elements of compelling messaging and the different means of communicating them to the press and the public.
From clarifying your goals to sharing your story, this training also explores proven strategies for building and maintaining relationships with your state and local representatives. We will dig into Florida specific issues, including book bans, anti-LGBTQ+ legislation, Christian nationalism on school boards, and more. Participants will identify key opportunities for engagement during the legislative cycle, learn messaging frameworks that foster connection, and practice making the “ask” in an advocacy meeting.
