Worship Service: Modern Migration – Doing it the “Right Way” in times of Crisis” by Amanda Harris
I’m Amanda Harris, and I’ve been practicing law since 2009. My specialty is humanitarian immigration, specifically asylum, human trafficking, and appeals. I’ve been honored to work with asylum seekers from Central America, Mexico, Angola, DR Congo, South Africa, Syria, and beyond. My cases have been heard in asylum offices and immigration courts across the country through the last 3 presidents and their administrations.
I’ll be talking about how people come to the USA, apply for asylum, what it’s like going through the system, and sharing a few of my client’s stories. I hope to explain how immigrating the “right way” is more complicated than it was just 75 years ago.
