Activist Valarie Kaur asks, “Can we look? Can we dare to feel? Can we go into the numb part of our hearts and whisper – “witness, witness, witness.” In June 2024, Unitarian Universalists voted at the General Assembly meeting to pass an “Action of Immediate Witness” calling for a stop to indiscriminate violence in Gaza. This Sunday, as we reach one year since the violence of October 7, let us come together to practice the deep listening required to better engage in the heart-opening, radical love, of being a witness.
