Discovery: Haunted by Conquest
Luigi Ferrer
The so-called “discovery” of the New World was not a spiritual triumph. It was devastation. This Sunday, we name the ghosts of conquest and empire. We listen to Indigenous wisdom that has endured despite it all, and we ask what it means to truly discover, not to conquer, but to encounter with humility and respect.
