First Time/Newcomers

Thank you for visiting our website. We welcome you to join us for Worship Service on Sunday mornings at 11:00 a.m. Children of all ages are also welcome in our Religious Exploration program classes and/or childcare.

A Typical Sunday Morning At UU Miami:

Stop by the Welcome Table in our breezeway to chat with friendly and helpful folks. Pick up a visitor name tag.

Soul Singing – fun, uplifting informal singing – starts in the sanctuary a few minutes before 11 a.m. and the start of service. Join us to learn new songs and prepare for worship.

On most Sundays, children begin in the Sanctuary with their families, then head to their classes approximately 15 minutes into the service (11:15 a.m.).

Infants and toddlers are welcome in Room 4, our nursery, staffed with two credentialed Childcare staff, as early as 10:30 am so that parents may acclimate them before Service begins at 11. Arrangements can be made with our DRE to have our childcare staff remain available until 1:30pm to allow parents and caregivers the opportunity to participate in adult Religious Exploration.

Linger after Sunday service for coffee, conversation and hospitality. Most weeks a light lunch is served. Weather permitting, we’ll sit outside at the picnic tables.

Dress at our services is informal. Visitors will feel comfortable in business-casual or
contemporary attire.

Who is welcome?

We are an inclusive community, involving all people without regard to age, race, gender, present or previous marital status, financial resources, religious background or sexual orientation. Visitors are welcome at all our services and programs.

What to expect on Sunday?

We hold services at 11 AM, with programs for youth and infant childcare available at that time as well. We gather for casual conversation following each service throughout the year. After Sunday Services from September to May, there is lunch and additional programming for members and friends of the congregation–from a drumming circle to adult religious exploration.

Children and Adults

Start each Sunday in the Sanctuary. Some Sundays we stay together for the whole service, other Sundays the children will leave for class after a story or lesson. We sing together, share the joys and concerns of our lives, reflect together in silence, heed the wisdom of ancient and modern words, and listen and respond to thoughts from the minister or others.

Will my faith be honored here?

Whatever faith you are, you will be welcomed here. We draw from the teachings of all the world’s great religious traditions, from Judeo-Christian to Eastern religions, as well as from knowledge gained by natural and social sciences, and the profound insights of the arts and humanities. Many philosophical positions, from humanism to atheism to feminist spirituality, as well as more traditional views, are represented in our church.
